Crazy + LARP = bad

*sigh*
You know, it’s stories like this [link] that giver LARPers a bad name. A man in Belfast was arrested for stealing women’s underware. A little strange, but no big deal, right?
Except that when the case came to court, the man’s excuse for commiting the crime was that he was playing a female elf in a Shadowrun game, and that he was so in-character that he forgot what was reality and what was REALLY FREAKING STUPID!!!
Now, I’ve played some great games in my time. I’ve had moments where I felt very in character. But never, NEVER did I think that I was actually that character. Nor has anyone else that I’ve gamed with. And even if they did, I don’t think any of them are stupid enough to use it as an excuse to commit a crime.
Seriously, folks. Don’t run games for crazy people! And crazy people – please don’t LARP!!

Still… A Shadowrun LARP? Cool… I wonder what sort of rules they were using…
